Welcome to the world of B.O.O.K.W.O.R.M.E.T.T.E.
For my first post I want to show you guys some of this month’s books that I’m really looking forward to. I usually have this process of researching a book left and right before I commit to reading it and nothing beats Goodreads for that. My favourite features of any book dedicated website/blog are the book lists so it was only logical to do my very own. Without further ado, here are my November ‘Want-more-than-most’ list:
- Beastly Bones by William Ritter
- The Vanishing Throne by Elizabeth May
- Soundless by Richelle Mead
- Need by Joelle Charbonneau
Okay, so technically The Vanishing Throne doesn’t come out in the States till next year, however, Book Depository delivers the UK version worldwide and I’m way too impatient to wait for the US release. It’s also worth mentioning that the UK version comes only in paperback so if you’re like me and have a hardback version of the first book you might want to look into buying the ebook until the US hardcovers are released on June 7th.
Beastly Bones is the second installment in the Jackaby series and if you haven’t read that one yet you are missing out. It’s a charming mixture of a creepy Victorian paranormal mystery and BBC Sherlock, which is a win in my books. But then I like weird mystical creatures in every shape and form. If you prefer to forgo the paranormal but still enjoy that creepy thrill the premise for Need promises a spine-chilling social network that grants every need and whim regardless of the consequences.
Last but not least is Richelle Mead’s new book Soundless. I have to say when I heard Chinese folklore and standalone and I was practically sold on the spot. Books of Wonder (which is my all-time fave bookshop!) offers some promotional goodies if you pre-order it. They also ship internationally for any of you who live outside of the US and would like to get their hands on a signed copy.
